I was out of the building attending professional development yesterday, so I wasn't able to be a part of the lessons surrounding this historic, tragic day. I always take the time to teach my students about the tragic events that took place on that day, a day that happened before they were even born. To me September 11th isn't just history. I experienced it. I remember where I was when I heard the news. I remember watching the second plane hit the second tower. For my students, September 11th is history.
I was bummed I couldn't be a part of the lessons, but I know they took time during the day to remember the victims.
